Fire at South Manatee home causes $30,000 in damage

MANATEE -- A home sustained $30,000 in damage after it was engulfed in flames on Monday afternoon, according to the Southern Manatee Fire District.

Emergency responders arrived within four minutes of being alerted to a fire at the one-story, 1,200-square-foot home on the 5100 block of 16th Street East at 12:51 p.m., according to a news release.

Responders were able to bring the fire under control within fifteen minutes if arriving.

The home was unoccupied and no injuries were reported to personnel.

The State Fire Marshal's Office also responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
