BRADENTON -- Two suspects have been arrested after they attempted to rob a man who was just walking down the street, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Brandon Lee Samuel and Jeremy Devontae White were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery after allegedly following a victim down the 1300 block of 19th Avenue West Friday at about 2:49 a.m., according to a report.

The victim was confronted by the two males, one of which held his hand under his shirt to indicate he had a weapon and they demanded money.

"The victim told them he had no money and kept walking," the report said.

The victim was then confronted again at which point one of the men raised his shirt to show the handle of a gun and they demanded money again.

"The victim then fled on foot to prevent getting robbed or shot and called the police," the report said.

Police were able to locate suspects fitting the description near by, detained them and the victim was then able to positively identify them.

The gun was not located but one of the men did drop a pocket knife when questioned by police, the report said.
