The State College of Florida baseball team must deal with life in the loser’s bracket following its first-round game in the FCSAA state tournament at Lakeland’s Joker Marchant Stadium.

The Manatees fell 6-3 to Seminole State College of Florida.

SCF rallied with the bases loaded in the eighth and ninth innings, but couldn’t generate the key base hit to open the floodgates.

Consequently, the Manatees will face the loser of Friday’s late game between Miami-Dade and Chipola on Saturday. That game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.

LSU-bound Conner Hale led the club’s offense with a 3-for-5 performance.

SCF’s No. 1 pitcher, Robby Kalaf, took the loss after he allowed five earned runs off 10 hits in seven innings.
