Fire at Bradenton home causes $20,000 in damage

BRADENTON - A family of three is receiving aid from the Red Cross after a fire in their home caused $20,000 in damage, according to the Bradenton Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded Thursday to a report of a fire at a single family home on the 1700 block of Second Avenue East, according to a news release.

The report came in at 11:10 p.m. and first responding units arrived at 11:13 p.m, discovering smoke and flames coming from the front door.

The fire was contained to the room of origin by fire crews, yet the significant heat and smoke damage still occurred throughout the home.

There were no reported injured.

Bradenton Fire Department and the State Fire Marshall's Office are still investigating the cause of the fire.
