Buchanan to hold town hall
HOLMES BEACH -- Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Longboat Key, will conduct a town hall "listening session" from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Holmes Beach City Hall council chambers, 5801 Marina Drive.
Buchanan said in a news release he hopes to hear input about jobs, spending and the economy.

Democrats to meeton sales tax vote
BRADENTON -- The Democratic Party of Manatee will holds its monthly meeting with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and speaker Ray Fusco of Manatee Rural Health at 7 p.m. May 20 at the Manatee County Central Library, 1301 Barcarrata Blvd., Bradenton.
Fusco will talk about the half-cent sales tax for health care on the June 18 ballot.
