Josh Tompson concert: Joyland, 5520 14th St., Bradenton

Josh Thompson has spent the past couple years touring in support of his Top 10 country debut "Way Out Here." The album includes the singles "Beer on the Table," "Won't Be Lonely Long" and the title track. Thompson wrote or co-wrote all 10 tracks on the collection. "Brews and Bites": Sail Pavilion, RiverWalk, 333 S. Franklin St., Tampa

Sail Pavilion will be hosting a monthly "Brews and Bites" Food Truck Rally 6-10 p.m. May 10, a rolling celebration of food and fun. The event will feature a craft beers, a fleet of area food trucks, and live entertainment from local musicians at the venue's unique waterfront bar. Information: 813-373-1193.


Mother's Day Garden Tour: Manatee River Garden Club, 3120 First Ave. W., Bradenton

The Manatee River Garden Club will host a Mother's Day Garden Tour 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 11 featuring five Bradenton gardens open for self-guided tours. At the clubhouse visitors can enjoy a plant sale, boutique and vendors. Lunch will be available. Tour tickets: $15 in advance, $20 day of tour. Information: 941-721-8376.

Lucky Ducky Race for PACE: Bradenton Riverfront

The fourth annual Lucky Ducky Race for Pace will begin at noon, with the race a 2 p.m. May 11 at the Bradenton Riverfront Park, downtown Bradenton, featuring more than 15,000 rubber ducks racing down the Manatee River. Ducks can be adopted through May 11 and are $5 each. Proceeds will benefit PACE Center for Girls of Manatee County. Information: 941-751-4566 or


Pops in the Park: River Town Park, 401 E. Bird St., Tampa

The Florida Orchestra will be hosting a free Pops in the Park concert 7:30 p.m. May 12 featuring a variety of music including John Williams' "Raiders March" from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Henry Mancini's film theme "Moon River," music from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and selections from "The Sound of Music," Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" and more. Blue Bell Ice Cream will be serving complimentary homemade vanilla ice cream to guests. Blankets and picnic baskets are welcome. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
