3 juveniles arrested after vehicle burglaries in Bradenton

May 7, 2013

MANATEE -- Three juveniles were arrested early Tuesday after a resident of a Bradenton neighborhood heard them talking about breaking into vehicles, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The resident called 911 about 2:23 a.m. after the suspects walked by his house. When deputies arrived and tried to stop the youth, they fled on foot, discarding items as they ran, according to a news release.

Deputies caught the youth and learned that two vehicles -- one in the 100 block of 50th Avenue Terrace West, the other in the 200 block of 49th Avenue Drive West -- had been burglarized. Some of the items the suspects had discarded had been taken during the burglaries, deputies said.

The juveniles were arrested and taken into custody.
