Anna Maria Oyster Bar offers culinary scholarships to high school grads

The Manatee Education Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2013 Anna Maria Oyster Bar Culinary Arts Scholarship.

The restaurant will award five $1,000 scholarships, Applicants must be a graduating senior from a Manatee County School District public high school, have at least a 3.0 GPA and plan to enroll in a full time Culinary Arts, Hotel/Restaurant Management or Hospitality related preparatory program at an accredited trade or technical school or an accredited Associates Degree program leading to a Bachelor's degree majoring in Culinary Arts, Hotel/Restaurant Management or Hospitality related field

or an accredited Bachelor's Degree program majoring in Culinary Arts, Hotel/Restaurant Management or Hospitality related field.

Candidates will be evaluated on academic performance, financial need, involvement in school and community activities and a one-page typed essay about the candidate's desire to major in the culinary arts or related hospital industry career. Candidates should also attach a completed FAFSA for and submit the application to Manatee Education Foundation, 215 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton.
