SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is looking for information on three suspects investigators say beat and seriously injured a teenager early Monday on Siesta Key, according to a news release.

About 12:45 a.m., the assailants attacked the teen near the pavilion/picnic area, the sheriff's office said.

The teen suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton for treatment.

The first suspect was described as being between 15 and 18 years old, with short, light-colored hair, standing 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall and with a slender build. He was wearing khaki shorts, according to the sheriff's office.

The second suspect was similar in description: 16 to 20 years old and wearing jean shorts.

The third suspect was described as being in his 20s, "big-boned," and with ear-length, dark and curly hair. He was wearing a tank top and shorts.

The sheriff's office said the suspects reportedly frequent the Payne Park area of Sarasota.
