HERALD STAFF REPORTMay 3, 2013

MANATEE -- A 43-year-old man faces burglary and grand theft charges in connection with the theft of aluminum fencing, the Manatee County Sheriff's office said.

Deputies responded to an alarm at Mikes Mini Mart, 5640 15th St. E., at 5:45 a.m. Friday. No suspected were located, a news release said.

Deputies later stopped and identified a suspect as Michael F. Armato.

While deputies were identifying Armato, another burglary was reported at the Manatee Housing Authority, 5631 11th St. E. Deputies say Armato was also identified as the suspect who removed three pieces of aluminum fence from the authority. After being arrested and read his rights, Armato admitted to the burglaries, the news release said.
