6-year-old stable after pit bull bite in Bradenton

April 28, 2013

MANATEE — A 6-year-old boy bitten by a pit bull Sunday was taken by Bay Flight to All Children’s Hospital and is now in stable condition, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim’s stepmother told detectives she was doing laundry on the back porch of a home in the 1100 block of 36th Avenue W. when she walked into the kitchen and saw the dog biting the boy.

The dog’s owner, who they are staying with, helped convince the dog to release the child. Animal control took the dog pending the outcome of the investigation.
