Four men reportedly crash car, run away in Manatee


MANATEE -- Police are looking for four men who abandoned a car Saturday after it crashed in Manatee County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2007 Infinity G35 was traveling northbound on 15th Street East at about 8:18 p.m. when it approached the intersection at 38th Avenue East.

The driver began to turn right onto 38th Avenue but did not negotiate the turn. The car hit a stop sign and collided with concrete barriers. The vehicle finally came to rest in a parking lot at 3615 15th St. E., the FHP said in a news release. The occupants of the car ran away.

The car was reported to have four male occupants. One was wearing a lime green shirt, the news release said.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any knowledge as to the identity of the driver are asked to contact Trooper Barnett of the Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.
