LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The USF College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership will host its first Golf Tournament and HospitaBULL Brunch on Sunday at the Legacy Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch.

The event was designed and organized by event management, restaurant and catering, and food production management students, and it has been a large part of the students' coursework over the last six months.

The fundraiser will benefit the College of Hospitality's operating fund, which is used for scholarships and operation activities such as conferences, including the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago next month.

The tournament is open to anyone and begins at 8:30 a.m. The brunch starts at 1 p.m. in the Legacy clubhouse.

Menu items prepared by the students include fresh oysters shucked to order, French toast sandwiches and a sampling plate with smoked salmon and grilled duck.

The cost is $45 for brunch only, $125 per golfer with brunch included, or $400 for a foursome, golf and brunch included.

The fundraiser also includes a raffle and silent auction for a round of golf for four at the Tournament Players Club in Tampa, restaurant gift cards and a one-night stay at Hotel Indigo, a boutique hotel in downtown Sarasota.

Golfers will be awarded trophies, and the winnersof the tournament will re-ceive tickets to the university's HospitaBULL Dinner inthe fall, valued at $200 each.

Bob Harrigan from ABC 7 will be the master of ceremonies.
