MANATEE -- A gunman robbed a Bradenton pawn shop Friday afternoon, taking money and two guns, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. About 3 p.m., a man walked into Lucky Leprechaun Gold and Pawn Shop, 4804 Manatee Ave. W., and struck up a conversation with the owner. The suspect then demanded money and told the owner to lie on the floor, according to the news release.

The robber took two handguns and money and fled the scene on foot, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies responded within minutes, setting up a perimeter using a K-9 unit to track the subject east bound on the north side of Manatee Avenue West, but they did not find the suspect, according to the report.

The suspect was described as being about 35 years old, standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a green military-type jacket and silver-framed glasses. He was carrying a blue steel handgun, the sheriff’s office said.
