Man robbed, pistol-whipped in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A man was robbed and pistol-whipped in Bradenton while leaving a friend's house early Friday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 3 a.m., the victim was leaving a residence in the 900 block of 35th Avenue East, when he was approached by three men. One of the assailants pointed a handgun at him, and they took his belongings, according to a news release.

The gunman then pistol whipped the victim on the back of the head. The attackers then fled in a vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.
