Bradenton businesses on USF's Fast 56 list

TAMPA -- The University of South Florida's alumni association recently recognized Williams Wealth Management Group of Bradenton on its list of fastest growing alumni-owned or led businesses.

Started by 2000 USF graduate Derek Williams, the business recently received one of the inaugural USF Fast 56 awards.

The award recognizes the 56 fastest growing alumni-owned businesses from around the world.

Mark Richmond and Stephany Richmond, both alumni from the class of 1977 were also recognized for the growth of The Furniture Warehouse. The couple's retail furniture and home furnishings business now has five locations in Southwest Florida, including Cortez Road and in Ellenton. The retail headquarters is off of 16th Street East in Sarasota.

Companies on the USF Fast 56 list were recognized April 12 in the Marshall Center Ballroom on the USF Tampa campus. The Keynote Speaker for the event was Daytona International Speedway President and USF Bull Joie Chitwood III.
