2 masked gunmen rob 7-Eleven store in Manatee

MANATEE -- Two masked gunmen early Monday robbed a 7-Eleven store in southern Manatee County, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 1:03 a.m., the suspects entered the store at 4451 Tallevast Road, approached two store employees and at gunpoint forced them to open the cash registers, according to a news release.

The suspects fled after taking an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.

Deputies, including K-9 searched the area but did not find the suspects, according to the sheriff's office.

One suspects was described as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds. He was wearing a dark ski mask, according to the sheriff's office.

The second suspect was described as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing. A T-shirt was covering his head.

Both suspects were carrying guns, the sheriff's office said.
