Bradenton man reported missing

BRADENTON -- An 87-year-old man has been reported missing after being in a minor accident Friday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

Charles Hearn was seen at 3:30 p.m. Friday picking up his 2003 silver four-door Cadillac from Tropical Cadillac in Bradenton, according to a news release.

At 10 p.m., Hearn called his wife to say he had been in a crash but was all right. Hearn could only tell his wife he was near a fire station. He did not return home Friday night, deputies said.

His wife notified the sheriff's office Saturday and deputies discovered Hearn's car had slid off the road Friday evening in Osceola County. He was not injured and was directed to a motel in Lake Wales to spend the night.

Hearn checked out of the motel at 9:30 a.m, Saturday and was last seen driving north on U.S. Highway 27 when he should have been headed south. He has not been seen since.

His car has Florida tag number E10 7DC. Anyone with information should call the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011.
