Burglary suspect arrested outside victim's apartment

— A Bradenton man woke up in his home to find a burglary in progress early Saturday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

According to a news release, the 28-year-old man was awakened in his home in the 2300 block of Flamingo Boulevard at about 4:18 a.m. to find two unknown males in his apartment.

The two fled from his residence as he gave chase. The victim was able to catch one suspect, identified as James Martin, 19, and detain him. The second suspect fled in a silver Chrysler 300.

Electronics taken from the victim's home were recovered just outside where they were dropped. Martin was arrested and charged with burglary to an occupied dwelling. The investigation continues.
