Sheriff: Robbery try fails at McDonald's in Bradenton

April 16, 2013

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office was investigating the attempted robbery early Tuesday of a McDonald's restaurant in Bradenton.

About 3:30 a.m., the three suspects, all dressed in black, went into the restaurant at 3631 Cortez Road W. One of the suspects, who also was wearing a camouflage bandana, demanded the cashier give him money from the register, while his hand was in his pocket, "giving the impression he was armed," a news release states.

The suspects didn't get any money because the register was empty, according to the report.

The suspects fled in a black vehicle. Deputies searching the area found a possible suspect vehicle, but then determined it was not related, according to the sheriff's office.
