Discover Pinta and The Nina: Regatta Pointe Marina, 1005 Riverside Dr., Palmetto

The "Pinta" and the "Nina," replicas of Columbus' ships will be open for tours 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily through April 14. Both ships tour together as a new and enhanced "sailing museum" for the purpose of educating the public and school children. While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors, $6 students 5-16. Children ages 4 and younger are admitted free. Gulf Coast Rhythm and Ribfest: Manatee County Fairgrounds, 1402 14th Ave. W., Palmetto

The seventh annual Gulf Coast Rhythm and Ribfest will be 11 a.m.-10 p.m. April 13 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. April 14 featuring award winning grilling teams from across the nation and a line up of national and local musicians and entertainers including Doug Demming and Dennis Gruenling with The Jewel Tones, Mitch Clark Band, The Lee Boys, Foghat, and Vince Neil of Motley Crue on Saturday, and Trinity 7, Soul Crooners, Urban Mystic and Fantasia on Sunday. Marauders concert series: The Bradenton Marauders host the St. Lucie Mets at McKechnie Field for a three-game series which began Friday. The series features the first of five concerts in the first-ever Marauders Concert Series, a postgame performance by Tampa rock group Pitbull Toddler after the game on April 13. Gears and Beers Classic Car Show and Festival: Holmes Beach City Hall Park, 5801 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach

The Rotary Club of Anna Maria Island will host the Gears and Beers Classic Car Show and Festival 11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 13 featuring a classic car show, live music by Mike Sales and Bill Bowdish, arts and crafts, and food and beverage vendors. The Anna Maria Island Privateers' Thieves Market will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. April 13 featuring a bake sale, housewares, tools, jewelry, antiques, fresh produce, collectibles, toys and much more for sale. Look for the pirate ship "Scullywag" with Privateers selling grilled burgers and hot dogs. Food from Big John's Famous Texas Barbecue is also available for purchase. DeSoto Heritage Festival Bottle Boat Regatta: Southside of Palma Sola Causeway, Bradenton

Bring the family to the DeSoto Heritage Festival Bottle Boat Regatta 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 13 and see teams compete in homemade boats of all shapes, sizes and themes and witness various teams of friends, coworkers and children who have spent countless hours fabricating an array of exotic-looking boats that float on hundreds of plastic bottles.
