Discover Pinta and The Nina: Regatta Pointe Marina, 1005 Riverside Dr., Palmetto
The "Pinta" and the "Nina," replicas of Columbus' ships will be open for tours 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily through April 14. Both ships tour together as a new and enhanced "sailing museum" for the purpose of educating the public and school children. While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors, $6 students 5-16. Children ages 4 and younger are admitted free. The seventh annual Gulf Coast Rhythm and Ribfest will be 11 a.m.-10 p.m. April 13 and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. April 14 featuring award winning grilling teams from across the nation and a line up of national and local musicians and entertainers including Doug Demming and Dennis Gruenling with The Jewel Tones, Mitch Clark Band, The Lee Boys, Foghat, and Vince Neil of Motley Crue on Saturday, and Trinity 7, Soul Crooners, Urban Mystic and Fantasia on Sunday. Marauders concert series: The Bradenton Marauders host the St. Lucie Mets at McKechnie Field for a three-game series which began Friday. The series features the first of five concerts in the first-ever Marauders Concert Series, a postgame performance by Tampa rock group Pitbull Toddler after the game on April 13.
