Royal Sara-Mana Club to hold 47th annual Debutante Cotillion April 13

The Royal Sara-Mana Club presents its 47th annual Debutante Cotillion at 8:30 p.m. April 13 at the Bradenton City Auditorium, 1005 Barcarrota Blvd., Bradenton. This year, 10 young ladies from Sarasota and Manatee counties are to be presented. For more information, contact Dale Garcia at 941-720-9843.

Brown

Janaye Lynnette Brown, 17, is the daughter of Elston and Juliet Brown of Palmetto. She is a junior at Manatee High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society and received the Renaissance award. She participates in the Key Club, Student Council, Senate, Health Occupation Students of America and Junior Class Board. Her community activities include acting on stage with the Manatee Players and volunteering with her church. Her ambition is to become an optometrist. She enjoys reading, playing the piano, and ballet.

Carley

Shambria Briante Carley, 18, is the daughter of Craig and Felicia Sumpter. She is a junior at Palmetto High School, where she has received perfect attendance awards. She also played basketball and cheered on the varsity cheer squad. Her community activities include volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, where she is vice-president of the Keystone Club. She has also received the Youth of the Year Award. Her ambition is to become an attorney. She enjoys singing, dancing and drawing.

Chaplin

Lauren Alexis Chaplin, 17, is the daughter of Swoboda Chaplin, of North Carolina and Letha Clark-Dennis of Sarasota. She is a junior at Booker High School, where she is a member and treasurer of the National Honor Society. She participates in the College Reach Out Program, Y Achievers, College for Every Student, Papillion and varsity volleyball and basketball for three years. She is a member of the Hopes and Dreams Club, a Grain Scholar, a Renaissance Silver Achiever, and a scholar athlete. Her community activities include the Delta Gems of the Bradenton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., North Sarasota County Library volunteer and Teen Court of Sarasota. Her ambition is to become a lawyer or an occupational therapist. She enjoys cooking, reading, and playing the piano and the viola.

Cox

K'licia Nikol Cox, 16, is the daughter of Alphonso and Kim Cox. She is a junior at Manatee High School where she is a cheerleader. Her community activities include a member of Blaze Models, and a volunteer with 13th Avenue Youth Center. She is active with her church. Her ambition is to become a registered nurse. She enjoys dancing and make-up artistry.

Gordon

Brianna Chaneriya Gordon, 16, is the daughter of Chrishanta Brown and the late Rodney Lamb. She is a junior at Palmetto High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized for outstanding performance in ITT. She is a member of the girls' basketball team and the Interact Club. Her community activities include after-school tutoring, AAU basketball, and volunteering at a daycare. Her ambition is to become a successful lawyer. She enjoys shopping, swimming, dancing, reading, playing basketball and making people laugh.

Johnson

Robneshia Vonté Johnson, 17, is the daughter of Ron Bradshaw and Tara Washington. She is a senior at Palmetto High School, where she has received honor awards for two years, is a member of the Student Government Association and the Health Occupation Students of America club. She is an athletic trainer and has played on the softball and volleyball teams. Her community activities are with her church. Her ambition is to become a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology. She enjoys singing and playing softball.

Kelly

Daisha Katricia Kelly, 17, is the daughter of Randy Kelly and Niya Evans. She is a junior at Southeast High School, where she has been awarded "Freshman of the Quarter" and is the historian of her F.A.M.E. (Future Achievers Moving towards Excellence) mentoring group. She is on the basketball and track and field teams. Her community activities are with her church. Her ambition is to become a business accountant. She enjoys drawing, playing basketball and video games.

Sanders

Ayriell Simone Sanders, 17, is the daughter of Larry and Sonya Sanders. She is a junior at Palmetto High School, where she participates in JROTC, played varsity softball and was a member of the varsity dance team, the Palmetto Dazzlers. Her community activities include volunteer work at an animal hospital, Westside Funeral Home and a local food bank. She is also active in her church. Her ambition is to become a registered nurse practitioner. She enjoys shopping, swimming, dancing, playing piano, singing reading, writing, playing softball and cooking.

Waiters

Reneisha Monique Waiters, 17, is the granddaughter of Robert and Ella Dawes. She is a junior at Southeast High School, where she is a member of the Key Club, Seminoles for Christ and the National Honor Society. She is a recipient of the Renaissance award. Her community activities are with her church. Her ambition is to become a professional in forensic science. She enjoys writing poetry, reading, drawing, and vocational speaking.

Younger

Cyandra Laduan Younger, 17, is the daughter of Larry and Shameka Younger. She is a junior at Palmetto High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the Student Government Association, the Bible Club, junior class secretary, secretary of Future Business Leaders of America, and secretary of the Key Club. She is manager of the Palmetto High Boys' basketball team, a member of the track and field team, a cheerleader and a cheer photographer. Her community activities include volunteering at the annual Ribfest, DeSoto Seafood Fest, "American Girl" fashion show, the walk to find a cure for diabetes and with Palmetto High School's graduation. She is a member of the Precious Pearls of Lambda Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her ambition is to become a professional in hospitality management or the insurance field. She enjoys designing pictures and events.
