Weather alert: Showers, storms possible Thursday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday in Bradenton, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are calling for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 85 and southerly winds of 11 to 16 mph, increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph, according to the Weather Service.

Thursday night, the chance of rain will remain at 30 percent, mainly before 8 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 69 and southerly winds of 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
