Sarasota police search for Fifth Third Bank robber

— A homeless man is wanted in connection with a daylight bank robbery at Fifth Third Bank, 50 N. Central Ave., Sarasota.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sarasota police report suspect Gregory Thompson, 34, entered the bank and demanded money while threatening a teller. The teller handed cash to the suspect who fled on foot east on First Street and was last seen running southbound toward Main Street.

Sarasota Police say Thompson is wanted for the bank robbery. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call 954-7091.
