Volunteer Fred Barnes organizes racks of donated clothing in the back-room sorting area of the Manatee Memorial Foundation Auxiliary Thrift Shop Monday. It’s a tight squeeze for the roughly 90 volunteers who help to organize, clean and otherwise prepare clothing, furnishings and household goods for sale that are dropped off at the popular thrift store on Manatee Avenue.
The store is adding roughly 3,000 square feet to expand their back-room sorting area and retail space. Other additions will include a covered drive-through donation drop off lane, expanded parking and a break room for volunteers.
