De Soto Heritage Festival Seafood Festival: along Main Street and Barcarrota Boulevard, Bradenton

De Soto Heritage Festival Seafood Fest is noon-7 p.m. April 7 featuring some of the best seafood around with tasty offerings from area restaurants and food vendors. There will be area artisans and craft vendors and other activities for the whole family, and continuous entertainment on two stages by various national, regional and local bands including Steve Arvey, The Boneshakers, The Dweebs, Del Couch Foundation, Gator Nate, and Big Daddy on Sunday. Admission: $2 adults, children ages 12 and younger are admitted free. A portion of the admission fee will be donated to MOTS and FELT. Information: 941-747-1998.

Florida Wine Fest Balloon Festival: Premier Sports, 5895 Post Blvd., Lakewood Ranch

A Balloon Festival will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 7 featuring tethered balloon rides, continuous music, upscale arts and craft vendors, gourmet food trucks, beer and wine tents, kids zone, and a car show. A launch of balloons, weather permitting, will be 7:15 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and a Balloon glow Saturday evening. Admission: $15. Information: http://floridawinefest.org.

Anna Maria Island Art and Craft Festival: Holmes Beach City Hall Field, 5801 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach

The Anna Maria Island Art and Craft Festival will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 7 featuring an array of fine art and craft, food and more. Music will be provided by local favorites Larry Wilhelm, Saturday and Karen Greenley, Sunday. Admission and parking are free. Proceeds will benefit the North American Butterfly Association. Coquina Beach Market: 2650 Gulf Drive S., Bradenton Beach

Come and stroll the Beach Market at Coquina Beach 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 7 featuring fresh produce including organic produce, arts and crafts, jewelry, local artists, scarves, apparel, pottery, purses, collectibles, health and beauty items and live music by area favorite, Larry Wilhelm. Pulled Pork Challenge: The Bridge Street Market, along Bridge Street, Anna Maria

The Bridge Street Market and Heroes on the Water will host a creative Pulled Pork Cook-Off competition 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. April 7. The event gives the public a chance to sample some of the most delicious traditional and inventive pulled pork recipes from acclaimed local chefs and culinary aficionados form Anna Maria Island. Live music will be provided by the Tangled Mangoes. Tickets: $5. Proceeds will benefit Heroes on the Water, a mission helping wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Information: 941-778-8705.
