Gunmen take money in Saturday robbery in Manatee

— Two people were robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.

The victims were driving up to the entrance gate of the Sabal Cove apartments, 3220 54th Drive E., when several suspects dressed in back, with black ski masks, pulled in behind them and surrounded their vehicle, according to a news release.

One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the driver and demanded his wallet. The suspects fled the area after taking property from the victims. No one was injured during the incident, the news release said.
