Discover Pinta and The Nina: Regatta Pointe Marina, 1005 Riverside Dr., Palmetto
The "Pinta" and the "Nina," replicas of Columbus' ships will be open for tours 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily April 5-April 14. Both ships tour together as a new and enhanced "sailing museum" for the purpose of educating the public and school children. While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for a walk-aboard, self-guided tour. Admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors, $6 students 5-16. Children ages 4 and younger are admitted free. Artwalk and Ninth Annual Garden Walk and Children's Literary Event: Village of the Arts, 12th W. and Ninth Ave. W., Bradenton
The Village of the Arts Artwalk and the Ninth Annual Garden Walk are 6-9:30 p.m. April 5 and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 6. Visitors can take a tour of some of the various gardens throughout the Village. In conjunction with the Artwalk the Village will host a Children's Literary Event at noon-3 p.m. April 6 featuring children's authors reading and signing books at participating shops and galleries. Main Street at Lakewood Ranch will host a Music on Main concert 6-9 p.m. April 5 featuring live music by Soul R Coaster. Beer, wine and food sales benefit the Taylor Emmons Scholarship Fund. Florida Wine Fest Balloon Festival: Premier Sports, 5895 Post Blvd., Lakewood Ranch
A Balloon Festival will be held 10 a.m.-10 p.m. April 6 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 7 featuring tethered balloon rides, continuous music, upscale arts and craft vendors, gourmet food trucks, beer and wine tents, kids zone, and a car show. A launch of balloons, weather permitting, will be 7:15 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and a Balloon glow Saturday evening. Admission: $15. Information: http://floridawinefest.org.
Fourth Annual YouthArts Fest: Five Points Park, downtown Sarasota
The Arts and Cultural Alliance invites the public to attend YouthArts Fest 9:30 a.m.4:30 p.m. April 6 featuring more than 500 students showcasing their talents and various performances throughout the day and will include a hands-on arts and crafts area with varied activities provided by the Sarasota Orchestra, G-Wiz 2.0, the Ringling Museum, Sarasota ArtCenter, Selby Library and art teachers and teaching artists. Local arts and cultural organizations will be exhibiting and offer information on the summer and after-school programs, workshops and scholarships opportunities they offer to students. The Anna Maria Island Art and Craft Festival will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 6 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 7 featuring an array of fine art and craft, food and more.
