'Cracker Fest' to benefit Duette school

BRADENTON-- The Duette Education Foundation will host a nostalgic festival to benefit Florida's "last one-teacher school." There will be live music, "cracker cows," food and fun activities for the family.

The event is 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rowlett students to compete in Odyssey of the Mind

BRADENTON -- Four teams of students from Rowlett Magnet Elementary School for Communications and Creative Arts are advancing to the Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament in Orlando Saturday.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international competition that provides creative problem-solving challenges and opportunities for students. The state tournament will be held at the University of Central Florida.
