Armed home invasion in Sarasota injures one victim

SARASOTA — Two unidentified masked men entered a home carrying weapons in the 3800 block of Rilma Avenue about 11:12 p.m. Saturday, the Sarasota Police Department reports.

The masked men demanded money and other items then left. A male victim was injured with a cut to the back of his head when he was hit by one of the perpetrators. The other victims, a female and another male, were not harmed. The suspects have not been identified, but the investigation is ongoing and evidence is being processed.

At this time it is unknown if this robbery is related to the robbery that took place earlier on March 30 in the area of the 1200 block of 38th Street. The Sarasota Police Department is asking anyone with information about this robbery to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 941-954-7070.
