March 30, 2013

— Interstate 75 has reopened after a brush fire south of Sun City Center temporarily shut down all traffic, the Florida Highway Patrol is reporting.

While southbound traffic reopened within an hour after the blaze was reported shortly after 3 p.m., northbound traffic was closed for about three hours, forcing drivers to detour onto I-275.

Hillsborough County Fire Department, Manatee County Fire Department, and Department of Forestry were involved in fighting the fire.
