Eggstravaganza: An egg hunt and games for kids of all ages will be jointly sponsored by the YMCA and FIRST KIDS Children's Ministry 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Bradenton First Church of the Nazarene, 1616 59th St. W. This free event will include inflatables, an egg hunt, games, arts and crafts, hot dogs and Easter story time. Information: 941-794-1685.

Easter sunrise service: The Lakewood Ranch Campus of Sarasota Baptist Church will hold an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. at Legacy Golf Club, 8255 Legacy Blvd. "Sunrise on the Green" will have worship music and a special Easter message. Spanish service begins: The Source Church, 5412 State Road 64, Bradenton, will begin weekly Spanish family service at 4 p.m. Easter Sunday. Pastors Rick and Monica Thomas will lead the services. Information: 941-592-4700.

Easter cantata: The choir of Manatee Baptist Church, 1501 Seventh Ave. E., presents an Easter cantata, "O, What a Savior," at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Information: 941-748-2339 or 941-750-0974.

Dinner and a movie: Temple Sinai, 4631 S. Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota, will show the film, "Image Before My Eyes," beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday. This is the third film of four from the Dr. Sam and Ina Gross Memorial Collection. The overall theme is the Jewish Diaspora; a history of Jewish Life in Poland before the Holocaust. Yizkor service: Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, will mark the final day of Passover with a yizkor service at 10:30 a.m. April 1. In addition to special Torah and Haftarah readings, the service will include traditional memorial prayers for the departed. The community is invited. Information: 941-371-2788.

A look at India: "Enchanting India" will be the topic for the monthly Breakfast Club program starting at 9 a.m. at the Longboat Island Chapel fellowship hall, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Dr., Longboat Key. A discussion on India today, their unique culture, travel recommendations and children's home experiences will be given by Sue Reese, Betty Rahm, Linda Dias, Liz Yerkes and Marilyn Johnson, and also will include a display of items, photos and videos. Prime Time Hoe Down: An event for people 55 and older will be at 6 p.m. April 4 in the Family Life Center at Bradenton First Church of the Nazarene, 1616 59th St. W. A complete pulled pork dinner (alternative: vegetarian lasagna) will be followed by musical entertainment provided by the State Road 64 Bluegrass Band and a comedian/inspirational speaker, Gaye Martin from Ocala. Lunch with the rabbi: The popular monthly "Lunch with the Rabbi" program continues at noon April 3 at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota. An afternoon of casual conversation with Rabbi Brenner J. Glickman on topics of current Jewish interest and news from Israel. Attendees are asked to bring a brown-bag lunch and -- if they wish -- a newspaper article for discussion. Homemade cookies are provided for dessert. Family Shabbat: Services continue at 7 p.m. April 5 at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota. Featuring lively music with the Family Shabbat Band; prayers led by religious school students; a story based on the weekly Torah portion, and the opportunity for children to participate in the Torah service. Barefoot Sunday: Christ Episcopal Church, 4030 Manatee Ave. W., invites the public to come to the 7:30, 9 or 11 a.m. services April 7 wearing any kind of gently worn (or new) shoe, sandal or work boot, and to leave them at the altar for distribution through various community nonprofit agencies. Soccer clinic: Westminister Presbyterian Church, 3011 19th Ave. W., will conduct a free soccer clinic 9:30-11:30 a.m. for five consecutive Saturdays starting April 13, for kids in grades kindergarten to sixth. Prayers for the nation: The Apostolic Women's Network plans a service at 7 p.m. April 18 and every third Thursday of the month at Church Without Limits, 2209 75th St. W., Bradenton, to pray for America to come back to God. Cotten Patch Gospel: Theplay "Cotten Patch Gospel," will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 25-28. The musical features director Preston Boyd; actors playing multiple roles; and musicians playing bass, fiddle, banjo and guitar. They will re-tell the "greatest story ever told" with a unique Southern flair. This is taken from the book by Tom Key and Russell Treyz, with music and lyrics by Harry Chapin. Living Lord Lutheran Church: Our Daily Bread/Project 5000 at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 11120 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch, is collecting grocery bags filled with unbreakable containers to feed local families. Each bag will feed a family of four for two days or a family of two for four days. Also, the Quilters and Crafty Ladies meet 3 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to make lap robes and quilts for the needy in Manatee County. Orthodox Catholic: The Synod of Governing Bishops for the Holy Orthodox Catholic Church announced the opening if their new church temporarily at 2700 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite 11B, Sarasota. Temple Beth Israel: The Social Action Committee of Temple Beth Israel collects donations for the Bill Galvano One Stop Center. Needed: funding for medication, socks, mosquito repellent, toilet articles and soap, shoes, jeans, baby diapers and formula, reading glasses and bicycles. Donations can be given directly to the One Stop Center, 701 17th Ave. W., or dropped off at Temple Beth Israel, 567 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key.

Temple Emanu-El: Under the direction of its Social Action Committee, Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road, Sarasota, continues its food drive for those in Sarasota-Manatee who go hungry. Nonperishable boxed and canned foods may be placed in a marked bin in the Temple lobby during business hours and before and after Shabbat worship services. All donations benefit the kosher food pantry at Jewish Family and Children's Services or All Faiths Food Bank. Information: 941-966-9561.

The class consists of a guided meditation, a short talk and an opportunity for questions and answers. Each talk is part of a series, yet is self-contained.
