FHP looking for hit-and-run driver after Bradenton crash

MANATEE -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers were looking for a man who crashed his car into a tree early Friday and then left the scene, according to a news release.

The accident happened about 12:20 a.m. on 30th Street West near 45th Avenue West in Bradenton.

The driver lost control of his car, traveled off of the east shoulder and struck a tree. The car, a Buick LeSabre, continue northward and came to rest off of the west shoulder, according to FHP.

"The driver ... left the scene on foot and was last seen traveling northbound on 30th Street West," the report states.

The man was described as being in his early 60s.
