Robby Kalaf fired a three-hitter, striking out seven and walking none, Thursday night at Robert C. Wynn Field to lead the State College of Florida baseball team to a 10-0 victory over South Florida State College.

Connor Hale paced the Manatees' offense by going 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Connor Oliver added two hits and an RBI.

SCF improved to 28-9, 11-3 in the Suncoast Conference.

Prep softball

MANATEE 5, NEWTOWN SQUARE (PA.) EPISCOPAL 1 -- Therese Byrne and Taylor Bell stole three bases apiece, and Kelli Gault fired a six-hitter as the host Hurricanes defeated the Churchmen.

Byrne went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs. Kiley King and Hailey Hopkins each went 2-for-3 for Manatee (15-6).

Gault allowed an earned run and struck out six.

SOUTHEAST 4, BOOKER 3 -- Megan Stevens allowed just five hits and no earned runs, and Sarah Stevens had three hits as the visiting Seminoles got past the Tornadoes.

Megan Stevens and Lexi Hanes each drove in a run for Southeast (5-12).

PALMETTO 5, WAUCHULA HARDEE 2 -- Auria Mounts scattered nine hits and struck out four to get the win as the Tigers outclassed the host Wildcats.

Sarrah Diaz had three hits for Palmetto (10-7). Sarah McClintic and Britton Stancil had two hits apiece.

Girls tennis

MANATEE 4, PALMETTO 3 -- The host Hurricanes moved over .500 behind singles victories from Kellie Sperduto, Noell Neimann and Jourdan McKinnis.

Manatee (6-5) also got a doubles win from McKinnis and Chloe Conboy.

The Tigers (8-5) got singles victories from Randi Allard and Maggie Zanders, and the duo combined for a win at No. 1 doubles.
