Weather alert: Cold front will drop temperatures in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Colder weather is returning to the Bradenton area Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are calling for sunny skies and a high near 65, with north-northwesterly winds of around 21 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph, as a cold front moves through the area.

Monday night, there will be increasing clouds, with a low around 44 and north-northwesterly winds of 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph, according to the Weather Service.

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Wind chill values early could be as low as 38 early. Northwesterly winds of 10 to 20 mph -- with gusts as high as 28 mph -- are possible.

The Weather Service has issued a lake wind advisory for from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday. Forecasters also warned of a moderate risk of rip currents on local beaches.
