Walking tour of Palmetto is Tuesday
PALMETTO -- The Palmetto Historical Park and Manatee County Agricultural Museum, 515 10th Ave. W., will host a walking tour of historic Palmetto 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The walk will be approximately two hours long and will highlight some of the historic buildings in downtown and along the riverfront.

Pirates host Senior Expoat McKechnie Field
BRADENTON -- The Pittsburgh Pirates will host a Senior and Caregiver Expo11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Wednesday at McKechnie Field, coinciding with the Pirates' 1:05 p.m. spring training game against the Minnesota Twins.
The expo is open to all fans attending the game at no additional cost. The event is presented by Manatee Memorial Hospital and Humana.
Local businesses and non-profits that provide services to senior citizens will have exhibitor tables at the event. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free Pirates eco-friendly bag.
CARES Outreach Services of Sarasota will conduct free screenings for blood pressure, glucose/diabetes, and HIV in the roundabout outside the main gate. A total cholesterol screening will also be offered for $5.
These screenings are available to the general public. Participants who opt for all four screenings can get their results in 15 minutes or less. Participants should fast for at least eight hours before the total cholesterol and two hours for the glucose/diabetes screenings.
Free Distance Vision and Glaucoma screenings will be available from the Eye Associates' Sight Mobile outside the main gate.
Levi Dakin Memorial Rodeo slated for Saturday
MYAKKA CITY -- The Levi Dakin second annual Memorial Ranch Rodeo and Bullriding Event is set for Saturday at Circle S Rodeo Arena, 32450 Clay Gully Road.
Gates open at 1 p.m and the rodeo begins at 2 p.m.
Activities for children include a bounce house, pony rides, calf scramble and Easter egg scramble.
Admission: Adults $10, kids 6-12 $5, and 5 and younger enter free.
Bring your own lawn chairs.
