Bradenton man, 22, dies in 14th Street West crash

MANATEE -- A 22-year man was killed early Thursday when inexplicably drove the wrong way on 14th Street and crashed into a storage building, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

For some unknown reason, Matthew Lance Daley about 5:55 a.m. drove the Nissan minivan he was driving southbound across the median and the northbound lanes and onto the east shoulder, before slamming into a storage building at 3601 14th St. W., according to a news release.

Daley was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured.

As part of their investigation, troopers were awaiting the results of blood alcohol tests, according to the report.
