MANATEE -- A 19-year-old man was arrested early Monday by deputies investigating several vehicle break-ins in the GreyHawk subdivision in East Manatee, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Ryan Price faces charges of loitering and prowling, but the sheriff's office said in a news release that there was "insufficient evidence" to link him to the burglaries.

Deputies responded to GreyHawk, which is off State Road 64, about 4:30 a.m. to a report about a suspicious vehicle. A security guard told deputies he saw Price run away from the vehicle when he spotted the guard, according to the report.

Deputies checked the area but could not find the suspect. As they watched the car, Price returned and was stopped. During a subsequent search of the area, deputies found that several vehicles had been burglarized and personal items taken, according to the news release.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about what happened can call the sheriff's office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
