Published: March 15, 2013

MANATEE -- Southern Manatee Fire Rescue responded to what appears to be an accidental blaze at a Bradenton mobile home Friday morning.

About 5:27 a.m., 12 personnel and three fire engines responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of Avocado Street in Plantation Village Mobile Home Park.

Smoke and flames -- involving the master bedroom, attic and crawl space -- were observed at the rear of the double-wide home, according to the fire department.

Firefighters contained the flames to the master bedroom, but smoke caused damage throughout the home. Total damage to structure and contents is estimated at $10,000.

No occupants were inside the home.

Officials said the fire appears to be accidental, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause.
