Lakewood Ranch product Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will join the Denver Broncos after agreeing to a one-year deal late Wednesday night, the team announced.
Rodgers-Cromartie, 26, spent the past two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Broncos did not release terms of the deal, but the Denver Post reported that it was for $5 million.
Denver reportedly sees Rodgers-Cromartie as an upgrade for a secondary that imploded during an AFC Divisonal Playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

"The Broncos' whirlwind Wednesday continued late into the evening, as cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie became the fourth player to agree to terms with the team on day two of free agency.
It's a one-year deal.
Originally a first-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2008 NFL Draft, Rodgers-Cromartie has 16 regular-season interceptions in his five seasons, four of which he has returned for touchdowns. He has also accumulated 208 tackles, 84 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, a sack and two blocked field goals.
Rodgers-Cromartie was traded to Philadelphia in 2011 and last season led the Eagles with three interceptions.
Including postseason, he trails only Asante Samuel, Tramon Williams and DeAngelo Hall in interceptions by cornerbacks since he was drafted.
The 2009 Pro Bowler turns 27 next month."
