A 25-year-old Bradenton man was hospitalized in serious condition after his vehicle rolled several times on Interstate 75.
Sergio Montiel was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger southbound on I-75 in the center lane when the vehicle blew the right rear tire at 12:50 p.m. Monday, according to a sheriff's report. The driver lost control of the vehicle, and the Ranger crossed into the right lane. The Ranger overturned a number of times, the report stated. Montiel went off the road onto the west shoulder of State Road 93, where the vehicle finally stopped in an upright position facing northwest. Montiel was taken to Venice Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
He faces charges of driving without a license and of careless driving, the report indicated.
