Just before throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday night's Pirate game, young Joseph Durkin seemed to melt into his father's arms.
The bright lights, amplified announcer's voice and nearness of pro baseball players can be overwhelming, especially when the whole stadium would soon be focusing their attention on you.
But Joseph, 8, came through like a champ.
Straight and strong, he let the ball fly.
His father's smile was just as big as his son's.
Play ball!
