Matt Hague went 3-for-3 and delivered an RBI double during a four-run second inning that lifted the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles in a spring training matchup.
Clint Barmes added a RBI single during Pittsburgh's big frame and finished 2- for-2 with a run scored. Alex Presley and Jose Tabata also had run-scoring singles in the second-inning outburst.
Gerrit Cole worked the first four innings for the Pirates and gave up just two hits, though one was a two-run homer to Ryan Flaherty that accounted for Baltimore's only scoring.
Orioles starter Miguel Gonzalez was reached for four runs, only one of which was earned, on four hits over a pair of innings.
