The Pirate Parrot throws beads from the Hernando de Soto Historical Society's ship Saturday at the ninth annual Pirate Fest. Fans young and old took over Ninth Street West in front of McKechnie Field before Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins to get autographs from Pittsburgh Pirates players and meet mascots the Pirate Parrot and Marty the Marauder. Kids enjoyed face-painting and inflatable games. There was live music and Pirates pitching legend Steve Blass signed his new book "A Pirate for Life."
