MANATEE -- Medallion Home led single-family home award winners in the Home Builders Association Manatee-Sarasota's 2013 Parade of Homes.
Three Manatee County housing developments won their respective categories as best overall developments.
Development winners were Minto Communities at Harbour Isle on Anna Maria Sound for 200 homesites or fewer; Tidewater Preserve by WCI Communities for 500 to 750 homesites; and Lakewood Ranch Communities for more than 1,000 homesites.
Medallion Home took four top prizes for single home designs at various price points, Maronda Homes, Neal Communities, John Cannon Homes, and Arthur Rutenberg Homes/Nelson Homes also took home more than one top prize for homes in the parade.
The Green Award Overall Winner was Minto Homes for the Harbour Grand Retreat, Mangrove Walk at Harbour Isle.
All green developments must meet green building standards as set by one of three rating agencies, LEED, Florida Green Building Coalition or the National Green Building Standards set by the National Home Builders Association.
This year's parade of homes included 66 models and 32 builders. Every model was judged by teams of three or four judges. The Home Builders Association brought in 75 judges and then divided them into groups and drove each group house to house.
The judges rate each home based on various aspects and the Home Builders Association tallies all of the results to determine the winners.

In the multifamily home category winners included Manatee County Habitat for Humanity, Neal Communities, Lennar Homes, Minto Communities, Taylor Morrison and The Palms at Riviera Dunes.
The Parade of Homes continues through 5 p.m. Sunday.
