MANATEE -- A man has been charged with taking nine blue Florida Gator T-shirts from the Cracker Barrel at 2203 Cortez Road.

The alleged incident occurred 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

The suspect, Wayne R. Rafter, told deputies that he took the shirts without paying for them because he planned on selling the shirts to make money, according to the report.

The shirts were returned to the restaurant.

Rafter's bail was set at $1,120 and he remained in custody Thursday, according to the sheriff's office website.
