30 years of memories at SOLVE to be shared

MANATEE -- SOLVE Maternity Homes' Fundraising Gala is set for Saturday at Polo Grill's Fete Ballroom, 10670 Boardwalk Loop. Retiring director Donna Vellenga will be sharing stories from her three decades of service to SOLVE.

The social hour is from 6-7 p.m., with dinner at 7, and the speaker at 7:45.

Since its founding in 1976, SOLVE has grown from one maternity home in Bradenton to three homes in Manatee and Sarasota counties where as many as 20 pregnant girls and women reside as they plan for their future.

Ol' Blue Eyes to be invoked at free Bradenton concert

BRADENTON -- As a part of Realize Bradenton's music series of events, a free lunchtime concert is held today 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Historic Manatee Courthouse, 1115 Manatee Ave. W.
