Weather alert: A sunny Tuesday for Bradenton, but rain, more cold coming

Published: March 5, 2013

MANATEE -- The Bradenton area will further emerge Tuesday from the weekend chill, but another cold front could bring rain to the region by Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters said Tuesday should be sunny with a high near 76 and southeasterly winds of 6 to 14 mph becoming southwesterly in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday night, skies will turn partly cloudy, with a low around 62 and southwesterly winds of 11 to 15 mph. There also is 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 4 a.m., according to the Weather Service.

For Wednesday, forecasters are calling for a 30 percent chance of rain and a high near 67 and low of 45.

Because of the likelihood of strong north-northwesterly winds, plus low humidity, the Weather Service has issued a "fire weather watch" for Wednesday afternoon and evening, covering Manatee, Sarasota and much of the rest of the Tampa Bay region.
