Public invited to meeting on U.S. 301
PARRISH -- The Florida Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting for the roadway improvements along U.S. 301 from County Road 675 to Moccasin Wallow Road in Manatee County. The meeting is Tuesday at Parrish United Methodist Church, 12180 U.S. 301.
The meeting will be an informal open house. Citizens are welcome to attend anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. Department staff will be available to discuss the project, receive public input and answer questions.
Improvements in this project include expanding the road from two lanes to fivewithin the existing right of way.

Child care seat checks offered at by All Children's
LAKEWOOD RANCH -- All Children's Hospital and Florida Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition are continuing monthly car seat checks and classes at the All Children's Outpatient Care Clinics in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota.
Dates for the car seat checks at All Children's Outpatient Care of Lakewood Ranch, 8340 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. are 9 a.m. to noon on the first Thursday of each month.
Dates for All Children's Outpatient Care of Sarasota, 5881 Rand Blvd. are noon to 3 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Low-cost car seats can be obtained at this location for qualifying participants of the class.
Car crashes are still the number one killer of children in the United States. National statistics show that four out of five cars seats are not properly installed, which can lead to serious injury or death.
