Recap: St. Louis vs. Miami

Oscar Taveras clubbed a grand slam to highlight a six-run first inning that the St. Louis Cardinals rode to an 8-2 win over the Miami Marlins in Grapefruit League action.

Matt Carpenter walked twice and scored two runs for the Cardinals, while starter Jake Westbrook gave up one run on four hits in his lone inning on the mound.

Miami starter Jacob Turner failed to make it out of the opening frame, recording just one out. He allowed four hits and walked three.

Giancarlo Stanton collected three hits, falling a home run shy of a cycle, and scored both Miami runs.
